As a Barclays C# Developer, you will join one of the teams within Macro, Margin, Portfolio Mgmt. & Core Valuations Technology (MMPMCVT) in a C# development capacity and contribute to various projects spanning across critical technical deliveries, regulatory projects and platform enhancements requested by the product owner or business users.

We are currently operating in a hybrid working environment, meaning that many colleagues spend part of their working hours at home and part in the office, depending on the nature of the role they are in. Please discuss the detail of the working pattern options for the role with the hiring manager.

What will you be doing?
• Applying C# development skills and experience to work on all aspects of analysis, design, implementation and deployment of all software
  • Taking responsibility and ownership of new feature development in collaboration with colleagues within the team and across locations
  • Focusing on good code quality and high test coverage and actively participate in code reviews using Git/BitBucket
  • Designing and implementing changes to applications and data flows with accuracy, timeliness, quality and control in mind
  • Participating in team meetings like knowledge transfer, planning and retrospective sessions
  • Writing documentation and demo work to colleagues and stakeholders
  • Contributing to L3 support

What we’re looking for:
• Knowledge of C# and .NET framework
  • Knowledge of data structures, design patterns, object-oriented design principles and database design fundamentals
  • Experience of at least one DB technology (e.g. SQL Server, Oracle)
  • Excellent communication skills and work attitude, with a focus on detail and delivery of quality code to deadlines

Skills that will help you in the role:
• Practical experience of using Git, JIRA, TeamCity, working in an Agile environment
  • Development experience in large enterprise scale applications and distributed teams
  • Interest in financial derivatives and/or financial market risk
  • Experience of cloud technologies (e.g. AWS) and scripting languages (e.g. Python, Powershell)
